DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEART!
Text: Psalm 95: 7-8 & Hebrews 3: 7-11
The children of Israel knew that they were God’s chosen people. They knew they had the privilege of communicating with God when they needed to and he would hear them. They knew God promised to guide and direct their steps. They knew there was a reward for their faithfulness and they knew there was a consequence if they were disobedient.
Yet many times they chose to go their own way and do their own thing. As we read the history of Israel, we therefore see the many situations where they rebelled against their God. Many of us today may look at the Israelites with scorn saying “how could they be so rebellious?” yet it is the very thing we do today. How many times have we heard God’s voice telling us not to do this or that? How many times have we failed to follow His word even though we know it? How many times have we decided we will do our own thing, our own way?
The word for us today is “Today, if you hear His voice, harden not your heart as in the rebellion”.
THOUGH FOR TODAY:
Hearken to His voice and chose to walk according to His way. He will reward you if you are faithful.
