JESUS THE SHELTERING ROCK!
Text: Psalm 61:1-3
The picture that the Psalmist presents in the passage is like a huge rock standing tall in a desert. It hangs high above those who passed by it. As they do so they will observe that it cast a shadow.
People who are journeying through the desert in the hot sun would often stop by in the rock's shadow and receive shelter from the sun. Or if it is raining with stormy wind they would get under the safety of the rock to receive protection from the stormy rain.
Our Lord Jesus is the Rock that is higher than us. He will provide protection for us from the storms of life and the heat of sinful passion and consequences.
THOUGH FOR TODAY:
If you want protection from the heat and storms of life get under the shelter of Jesus Christ the rock.
